Useful Essential Oils During Pregnancy
A few of the essential oils that an aromatherapist may use to help you throughout
- Lavender (Lavendula officinalis) is a very balancing essential oil. It is useful
for relieving leg cramps, fluid retention, and general tiredness. Avoid if you have
any history of miscarriage.
- Lemon (Citrus limonum) can be used in low dilution to help relieve varicose veins.
Avoid sunlight after using.
- Mandarin (Citrus nobilis) is a very gentle, relaxing essential oil, making it ideal
during pregnancy. It can help prevent stretchmarks, relieve fatigue and fluid retention,
and ease an upset stomach.
- Neroli (Citrus aurantium) is valuable for its calming qualities. It is excellent
for skin care, and can also help relieve nervous tension and insomnia.
